Job Purpose Summary:    The Garden of Hope is looking for a Women’s and Children’s English Program Coordinator. This program hopes to not only equip the women and children with a valuable vocational tool in a tourist-dependent city, but also will serve as a vehicle to enable them to discover their identity and self-worth through a holistic curriculum that includes an art program for creative expression and a curriculum that is written to specifically address the women’s needs.

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 

Over-seeing the development and implementation of the Women’s and Children’s ESL program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

Curriculum Design

 

o        Women in our target group are at risk, in, or transitioning out of prostitution.  Curriculum must focus on the dignity and self-worth of each individual. The children in our program are from ethnic groups that are disadvantaged in Thai society. They range in age from 4 to 16.  The curriculum should be broken down into beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes for kids.

 

Supervisory and Scheduling

 

 

 

The Garden of Hope Team

 

Engaged participation in all Garden of Hope activities including daily prayer and worship, weekly staff meeting, monthly prayer day, Strategic Planning meetings, and other Garden of Hope group activities.

 

Note:  All staff sign their agreement to follow our Child Protection Policy.  Each candidate is carefully screened and references checked.  Prior to acceptance, each candidate is run through state and national Sex Offender sites.  Each candidate must also complete an FBI background check.  On site, we have continual video surveillance in all public areas. All classrooms and offices have glass doors to insure transparency and safety.  The Garden of Hope is safe place for kids and women, but not for those who want to harm them!

 

As a small but fast-growing non-profit organization, it is important that a person who understands our mission and is passionately devoted to helping us achieve it holds the role of ESL Coordinator!  The ESL Coordinator will be a highly valued member of our staff and interest in and aptitude for ministry is supported and developed.
